Chelsea transfer rumours: Atletico Madrid eye Tagliafico, Blues face Rice competition

Chelsea continue to make waves in the transfer market.

After completing deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, the Blues have been linked with a number of other players as they look to strengthen ahead of next season.

Here are the latest rumours involving Frank Lampard's side.

Atletico Madrid in Tagliafico race

Atletico Madrid have joined the race for Ajax full-back Nicolas Tagliafico.

Chelsea have been linked with the Argentina international as a potential alternative for Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell.

The 27-year-old has impressed in the Dutch capital and is viewed as a cheaper option should Leicester demand too much for Chilwell.

Yet Goal report that Atletico Madrid are preparing an offer for the player.

Contact has been made between the two clubs, with Tagliafico's availability being sounded out.

Henderson latest

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder says he has spoken with Manchester United over the future of Dean Henderson.

Chelsea have been credited with some interest in the goalkeeper following an excellent season with the Blades.

Yet his loan club are keen to keep him whilst Manchester United view him as a long-term option.

Wilder confirmed the Blades are in talks to keep Henderson at the club.

He said: "We already have started talking to the player and Manchester United.

"It is their decision and the boy's decision.

"We would love to extend that for another season and when we get the news on that decision we will let you know."

United urged to rival Blues for Rice

Manchester United have been urged to rival Chelsea for Declan Rice.

The 21-year-old's performances for West Ham have attracted interest from Chelsea, with Frank Lampard said to be a big fan of the player.

Yet John Barnes says Rice should move to Old Trafford.

He told BonusCodeBets: "Regarding the transfer rumours on Declan Rice, I'm not sure that he would come into Manchester United and take over that defensive midfield role, especially as Nemanja Matic has recently signed a two-year contract.

"However, United must look to the future and Rice is a good young English player and would be a good signing for United.

"Of course, he's a West Ham player and, from his own point of view, if he must move on, I think Manchester United would be a good place for him."
