Chelsea transfer rumours: Atletico Madrid eye move for Chelsea star, agent drops hint

Chelsea have endured a disappointing festive period so far. The Blues have won just one of their last six games in all competitions, including three losses.

The last outing saw Frank Lampard’s men draw 1-1 with Aston Villa, a result which leaves them in sixth place in the table going into 2021.

Chelsea were one of the biggest spenders in the summer transfer window, bringing in the likes of Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz, and Hakim Ziyech.

And with less than 24 hours remaining until the January transfer window reopens, there are already rumours surrounding who may be coming and going from Stamford Bridge in the next month.

With that in mind, here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Mustafi to Barcelona, Declan Rice, Dele's future - The Transfer News Show

Jorginho transfer stance

The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has said that the player is ‘very happy’ at Stamford Bridge, but has refused to rule out a potential return to Italy some time in the future.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a January move away from the club, with the midfielder having had a spell as an used substitute earlier in the season.

Chelsea are keen on a move for West Ham star Declan Rice, which could push the Italian down the pecking order.

However, Joao Santos has poured cold water on any potential departure.

“It was a great year for Jorge, he did very well in the national team as well. Next year there will be the European Championship, where he hopes to do very well with Italy,” Santos said (via the Daily Star ).

“As for Chelsea, they are not very well placed in the table now, but being a young team, it takes time.

“Jorge is a Chelsea player and he is very happy there, but I wouldn’t rule out a return to Italy in future."

Kai Havertz claim

Chelsea summer signing Kai Havertz is said to ‘regret’ his move to Stamford Bridge from Germany, according to reports in SportBILD (via the Daily Star ).

The midfielder arrived at the club in a big-money deal during the summer, with Chelsea chasing the player for the majority of the window.

However, he has struggled to fully settle into Premier League football, scoring just one league goal so far this season.

The report claims that Havertz is now regretting not taking a closer look at Bayern Munich’s interest before opting to sign for Chelsea.

Atletico target Giroud

Atletico Madrid have identified Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud as a potential replacement for the outgoing Diego Costa, according to Italian outlet RAI Sport (via the Metro ).

Costa will leave the Spanish side in January after coming to an agreement with the club to end his contract six months earlier than originally planned.

That leaves Diego Simeone on the lookout for a replacement, and he is ready to make a move for Giroud once the January transfer window opens.
