Chelsea transfer rumours: Arsenal target monitored as Tiemoue Bakayoko price tag emerges

The new Premier League season officially gets underway in a month.

It means time is running out for clubs to integrate new signings into the squad during the shortened pre-season period.

Chelsea are in a stronger position than a lot of their Premier League rivals having already tied up deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

Yet with Frank Lampard said to be planning a large overhaul of his Stamford Bridge squad, there is still plenty of work to be done in the transfer market.

With that in mind, here is the latest Chelsea transfer gossip.

Blues in Joelson Fernandes race

A Bola claim that Chelsea are keeping tabs on the race for Sporting CP starlet Joelson Fernandes.

The 17-year-old is attracting plenty of interest across Europe, having already made four senior appearances for the Portuguese club.

Arsenal have reportedly seen a €32m bid knocked back for the striker who has represented Portugal at youth level.

The Blues are said to be monitoring Joelson's situation.

Bakayoko asking price

ESPN report that Chelsea are willing to sell Tiemoue Bakayoko to AC Milan but are aiming to recoup nearly all of the £40m they shelled out on the midfielder in 2017.

AC Milan are keen to bring the Frenchman back to the San Siro after a successful loan spell in 2018/19.

Chelsea are willing to let Bakayoko leave, with the player surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

Yet a loan deal looks the most likely due to the fact AC Milan would not be able to afford the Blues' high asking price.
