Chelsea transfer round-up: Jules Kounde January bid ready as two stars 'open' to leaving

Thomas Tuchel could be facing a defensive crisis next year as a number of stars look set to walk out on his Chelsea side when their contracts expire next summer.

Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta have all been linked with moves away once their current deals run down, but there could be other departures as well.

It means the Stamford Bridge outfit have had to find potential replacements, and they appear to have a bid ready for Sevilla's French defender Jules Kounde ready.

Elsewhere the Blues appear to have suffered a blow in their pursuit of £42m Barcelona wonderkid Gavi.

Here are all the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Have your say! Who would you like Chelsea to sign in the January transfer window? Let us know in the comments below!

Gavi transfer blow

Chelsea have been widely linked with a move for Barcelona's young midfielder Gavi who is said to have a €50m (£42.5m) release clause in his current contract.

That release clause has led Barca to try and negotiate a new deal with the young star, and Marca [via Sport Witness ] now reports that while his "renewal is delayed", the two parties are "sure they will continue to be linked and that there will be an agreement".

The report adds that while Chelsea are interested in the young midfielder, Gavi has "turned a deaf ear" to approaches from the club so far.

Stars "open" to exit

Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso are considering leaving the club and could depart as early as next month, according to reports.

Both defenders have been important figures during their time at Stamford Bridge but have found game time increasingly difficult to come by in recent times.

And, speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast [via Sports Mole ], journalist Ian McGarry claims Azpilicueta and Alonso are "open" to leaving Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window.

It is reported that both players want to give themselves the best opportunity to play in next summer's World Cup in Qatar.

Kounde bid ready

Chelsea are reportedly ready to bid for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde next month.

According to ESPN, "the possibility of a move in January" is "not off the table".

Following Chelsea's failed pursuit of the defender last summer, the Spanish outfit are also said to have dropped their €80m (£68m) asking price.

The report states that sources claim Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is a huge admirer of Kounde and was interested in taking him to Paris Saint Germain while he was there.

Kounde is also said to be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge and "is believed to have agreed the framework of a four or five-year contract".
