Chelsea transfer round-up: Bayern back in for Callum Hudson-Odoi as Blues finalise deal

Chelsea kicked off their Premier League campaign with a 3-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night thanks to goals from Jorginho, Reece James and Kurt Zouma.

This summer it has been all change at Stamford Bridge as the club saw an opportunity to be busy in the transfer market.

Chelsea added to the signings of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, completed before the end of last season, with deals for Thiago Silva, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell and Malang Sarr.

It would seem the Blues aren’t finished either. Frank Lampard’s pursuit of a goalkeeper is in progress, with Edouard Mendy considered the club’s primary target.

Elsewhere, there is consistent talk of Chelsea doing deals to move players on from Stamford Bridge as Lampard looks to trim his squad further and shape it into one that is capable of fighting for a Premier League title. Here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Bayern reignite interest in Chelsea youngster

Callum Hudson-Odoi is once again a target for Bayern Munich, according to Sky Germany, via SportsMole.

The German giants submitted several bids for his services last year, all of which were turned down by Chelsea.

Hudson-Odoi subsequently ended speculation about his future by agreeing a new five-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

He was viewed as a key part of the club’s future, but the arrival of Havertz and Ziyech has thrown that into doubt.

The report states that RB Leipzig and Juventus are monitoring the situation, with Chelsea believed to be open to the idea of him leaving on loan.

Mendy deal needs finishing touches

Chelsea are still trying to agree a fee with Rennes for goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, according to Mohamed Bouhafsi.

Mendy, 28, joined Rennes last year after a spell with Reims and is a Senegal international. He has been identified by Lampard as the man to provide competition for Kepa Arrizabalaga, and it was hoped the two clubs could reach an agreement.

According to the French journalist, Mendy has agreed terms with the Blues and is now awaiting confirmation from his club to fly over and sign for Chelsea, with only a transfer fee still to be agreed.

Chelsea midfielder set for West Brom

Conor Gallagher is set to join West Brom on loan, according to the Daily Mail.

Gallagher, 20, enjoyed a breakthrough season last year thanks to successful loan spells with Charlton Athletic and Swansea City in the Championship. It was expected he would step up into the Premier League and that looks like happening with the Baggies.

The report states Bilic’s relationship with Lampard – which stems from their time as team-mates at West Ham United – helped West Brom secure the midfielder on loan.

Bilic’s side started their Premier League campaign with a 3-0 defeat to Leicester City on Sunday.
