Chelsea transfer round-up: 'Agreement in place' for defender and target AC Milan star

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel may have finally found the defensive reinforcement he craves with the Blues reportedly having an "agreement in place" to sign one of their top targets.

The Blues could lose several defenders in the new year with Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpipcueta's contracts all due to expire at the end of the season.

But it now appears Tuchel's side have an agreement with one of their top targets to replace those departing stars.

With Ben Chilwell also facing a spell on the sidelines, Tuchel could be keen on a left-back in January and may target an AC Milan star.

But the Blues may have suffered a big blow in their pursuit of a Barcelona player.

Here are all the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Have your say! Who would you like Chelsea to sign in the January transfer window? Let us know in the comments below!

Transfer blow

Chelsea may have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Barcelona's Sergino Dest, it has been reported.

According to AS, Barca could offer the player in exchange for Ajax full-back Noussair Mazraoui.

Dest left Ajax to join the Catalan giants in a £24million deal just over a year ago but Barca could decide to cut their losses and move for his former teammate.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in signing Dest, with Barca said to have made the player available to raise some much-needed funds following their recent financial woes.

Blues target Milan star

AC Milan may be tempted to accept an offer from Chelsea for full-back Theo Hernandez, according to reports.

ESPN claims "any fee close to the €20m (£17m) he cost to sign from Real Madrid in 2019 would tempt Milan to do business".

It is claimed the full-back "could be prised" in the January transfer window as Thomas Tuchel chases another full-back in the new year.

"Agreement in place" for star

Chelsea are hoping to sign Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde in January and reportedly already have financial terms agreed with the player.

Kounde was Chelsea's top target in the summer transfer window but they were unable to agree on a fee with his club Sevilla who refused to lower their asking price beyond his £68.8m release clause.

But they could finally be set to secure the player's signature next month, with recent reports suggesting Sevilla are now willing to lower their demands.

Transfer guru Duncan Castles thinks an agreement is already in place with the 23-year-old. He said on The Transfer Window podcast [via Express ]: "Chelsea are continuing to pursue him.

"They have continued to make it clear they want to bring him to the Premier League and that they’re interested in doing it in January.

"Obviously the financial terms remain fine, they were accepted in the summer."
