Paris Saint-Germain head coach Thomas Tuchel has refused to comment on a move for N’Golo Kante amid reports the Frenchman could leave Chelsea this summer.
Kante, who helped drive France to winning the World Cup this month, has drawn the interest of PSG following the arrival of Maurizio Sarri as new Chelsea manager.
The Blues are hoping to persuade the 27-year-old to stay at Stamford Bridge with a new contract as Sarri hopes he will be key to the high-pressing game he wants to play.
Kylian Mbappe admitted to slipping notes into Kante’s pocket during the World Cup to try and lure him to PSG but Tuchel, who took over from now-Arsenal boss Unai Emery in the summer, insists it is ‘not fair’ to speak about players of other clubs.
“It is not fair and I do not like it if other coaches talk about situations of players who are playing for other clubs,” Tuchel said.
“So there is no comment on Kante, of course, not for the transfer window.”
Tuchel also insisted that Real Madrid would not be taking Edinson Cavani off their hands this summer as a replacement for the departed Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I think that he is going to stay here, no one has said anything to me and I think he will stay,” he added. “It hasn't crossed our minds that he will go, I spoke to him and he hasn't shown any interest about moving.”
