Chelsea transfer news: Mauricio Pochettino makes ‘surprise decision’ on outcast with ‘unfinished business’

Mauricio Pochettino could welcome Romelu Lukaku back into the Chelsea squad due to the striker’s “unfinished business” at the club.

That is according to Ian Wright, who has spoken of the potential for the prospective new Blues boss to hand Lukaku another chance at the club following his loan spell at Inter Milan.

“The word on the street is that Mauricio Pochettino wants him back,” Wright told his podcast.

“He’s got unfinished business here, he’s got massive unfinished business here. If I was him, I would love to know I’m going back there and I can shut a few people up.

“He’s got to do that. He owes it to himself to try.”

Chelsea are keen to land a new striker this summer with Christopher Nkunku set to arrive on a £50million deal from RB Leipzig.

But Wright believes the Blues may not stop there, with a bid for Napoli talisman Victor Osimhen also rumoured to be on their radar.

“I wonder where he’s going to end up?” pondered the ex-Arsenal and England striker.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if it was Chelsea. Chelsea are going to try and get him I think.”
