Chelsea transfer news: Blues summer plans in limbo as club continue to wait for Fifa verdict on ban appeal

Chelsea are still unable to begin planning for the summer transfer window because Fifa are no closer to ruling on the club's appeal against a transfer ban.

Fifa banned Chelsea from buying players for two transfer windows in March after the club was alleged to have broken the rules in regard to signing underage foreign players.

Chelsea lodged an appeal against the ban with a track record of clubs such as Real Madrid and Barcelona at least having their bans reduced in the past.

However, the Evening Standard has reported that a decision will not be made by Fifa in the imminent future, leaving Chelsea in a state of limbo.

The transfer ban is preventing Chelsea from entering early negotiations with clubs at a time when Eden Hazard is likely to depart in the summer and questions remain over the future of a number of other key players including Callum Hudson-Odoi and Willian.

Maurizio Sarri's side capitalised on Arsenal's collapse by holding Manchester United to a 1-1 draw yesterday afternoon which leaves the Blues with Champions League qualification in their own hands with just two games to play.
