Chelsea transfer headlines as Emerson heads for Juventus and players to fund Declan Rice move

Here are your Chelsea transfer headlines for Monday, 5 October.

Chelsea full-back could join Juventus

Emerson Palmieri could be on his way to Juventus before the transfer window closes, according to Calciomercato (via Sports Mole).

The Serie A club have reportedly been in talks with the Chelsea left-back’s agent ahead of a potential loan move.

Emerson is believed to be keen on a return to Italy having fallen out of favour under Frank Lampard.

The 26-year-old has just over 18 months remaining on his contract and is behind Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Three players who could still sign for Chelsea

Chelsea have had a busy transfer window, but they may not be done yet.

The Blues continue to be linked with several players on deadline day, even after their significant investment over the last few weeks.

West Ham’s Declan Rice remains a target, while Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey and Espanyol’s Nico Melamed have also been the subject of interest from the Blues.

We took a closer look at the players that could yet end up at Stamford Bridge before the window slams shut tonight.

Who could leave Chelsea on deadline day

The focus, as ever, is on potential incomings, but Chelsea may need to recoup some funds by selling fringe players on deadline day.

There are plenty on the periphery given the size of Frank Lampard’s squad, though it remains to be seen if suitors will be found for all of them.

The likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko might head out the exit door today, whether permanently or on loan.

There is also interest in Callum Hudson-Odoi from Bayern Munich, and Arsenal reportedly want to sign Jorginho.

Those two seem less likely to leave given their respective roles in the first team, but nothing can be ruled out on deadline day.
