Chelsea transfer ban: Frank Lampard gives latest update on CAS appeal decision date

Frank Lampard has admitted that Chelsea are expected to hear the result of their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport over the transfer ban in the coming days.

The Blues are looking to have their appeal shortened from to windows to one in time for the January transfer window and to give them the chance to sign new players.

Chelsea have already served the first window of the ban, but after FIFA rejected their appeal they then took the appeal to CAS.

The Blues had their hearing on November 20 and the decision is expected to be released before the next window opens on January 1.

Chelsea have consistently denied any wrongdoing and are planning for the potential having the window to bring in some new faces.

However, Lampard admits that he isn't thinking quite that far ahead, however that he is expecting a result very soon.

"I haven’t heard any more," Lampard said. "So I would wait and reserve judgement until we get the judgement and see where we want to go from there.

"Very soon I believe. Days, I think."
