Chelsea told to pay £66m for ‘Lukaku’s heir’ as Tuchel faces tricky Paris Saint-Germain problem
Chelsea have been told that it would take £66m to sign Napoli forward Victor Osimhen as they attempt to find a potential successor for Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian forward has seen his future at Stamford Bridge be called into question over recent weeks following an explosive interview in which he suggested he was not happy in west London and also spoke up the prospect of a return to former club Inter Milan.
He has since reiterated his commitment to the west London side but that has done little to silence transfer rumours.
A return to Italy seems somewhat of a pipe dream at the current time, but El Nacional have suggested that French giants Paris Saint-Germain are readying a €90m (£75m) bid for the Belgian striker.
Should that be the case, Chelsea will likely have to look to sign a natural goalscorer as his replacement and according to reports that man could be Napoli’s Osimhen - with the Nigerian having caught the eye in Serie A this season.
Ahead of a damaging facial injury, he was in stunning form having scored nine goals in just 14 matches in all competitions.
In fact, Chelsea hero Gianfranco Zola had previously revealed he was a big fan of the 23-year-old, even drawing comparisons between Osimhen and a current Blues forward.
Speaking with Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian said: “When he [Osimhen] arrived in Italy two years ago, I didn’t know him well and I researched him.
“I discovered a player very good in his movement. With his athletic strength, he can be devastating. He is Lukaku’s heir. He is young and has enormous room for improvement.”
A move does not look set to be cheap though. Osimhen is currently under contract at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona until the summer of 2025.

As per El Nacional, the Serie A giants would demand a fee of upwards of €80m (£66m) for the striker - an amount that would see the striker become the third-most expensive arrival in Chelsea history.
Of course, plenty depends on both Lukaku’s immediate future at Chelsea and whether Osimhen can recapture his hot form following his injury return but the Blues will certainly have taken note on Napoli’s demands.
