Chelsea told of Achraf Hakimi transfer hurdle as Antonio Rudiger makes decision on future

Here is your Chelsea morning digest on Tuesday, June 22.

Inter outline transfer condition amid Hakimi interest

There appears to be a new development on the future of Achraf Hakimi every morning and today is no different.

According to reports from the Italian media, a swap deal between Chelsea and Inter has been mooted including current Blues defender Marcos Alonso.

However, in order for the Serie A club to facilitate such a move, they at first have to sell Croatian wideman Ivan Perisic, who has been linked to a number of Bundesliga clubs including Eintracht Frankfurt and Hertha Berlin.

Rudiger 'keen on new contract'

Whilst current Chelsea defender Alonso could soon be on the way out of Stamford Bridge, one man who does not want to follow him is centre-back Antonio Rudiger.

The German is out of contract next summer and could start negotiating with a foreign club as soon as January.

However, he is reportedly keen to sign a new deal in West London and remains committed to Thomas Tuchel’s men.

Gilmour handed gutting Euro 2020 blow

Meanwhile, Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour is set to miss Scotland’s final group game of Euro 2020, and potentially a knockout tie, after testing positive for coronavirus.

The midfielder impressed hugely against England at Wembley Stadium and was widely expected to retain his place in Steve Clarke’s starting XI.

He will now start a mandatory ten-day period of self isolation.
