Chelsea to renew Hakim Ziyech interest as Frank Lampard set for £150m summer spending spree

Chelsea will keep tabs on Ajax star Hakim Ziyech for the remainder of the season as they start to identify targets for a busy period in the summer transfer window.

Frank Lampard is yet to secure his first signing at Stamford Bridge, having been under a transfer ban last summer and not recruiting any new players in the January window.

However, that is expected to change this summer as The Telegraph reports that the Blues are preparing for a £150m spending spree and will watch Ziyech for the remainder of the campaign.

It's stated that Chelsea saw an advance in the mid-season window rejected by Ajax, who insisted the 26-year-old would see out the remainder of the season in the Eredivisie after penning a new deal in August.

However, last season's Champions League semi-finalists are bracing themselves for new bids at the end of the season and accept it will be difficult to fend off interest in his services.

Lampard was left frustrated by the club's inability to secure new additions last month but his concerns will be alleviated at the end of the campaign, where he'll be handed a huge transfer warchest.

Ziyech, who has scored six goals and contributed 12 assists in Eredivisie this season, would reportedly cost a fee of around £45m.
