Chelsea 'to give Frank Lampard £150m transfer war chest' as Blues eye Jadon Sancho

Frank Lampard will have £150m to spend in the summer as he plots Chelsea's rise back up the Premier League table.

The Blues were hit with a transfer ban last year so were unable to recruit anyone in the summer and, despite having it lifted by January, failed to add any of their targets.

Lampard has had to put plenty of faith in youth and looked to deliver Champions League football despite losing Eden Hazard in the summer.

But with Chelsea's financial might behind him he will look to make some big name additions with Jadon Sancho and Moussa Dembele in his sights, reports the Evening Standard.

The Blues boss cut an increasingly frustrated figure in press conferences throughout January as his suggested targets were not secured.

A striker to ease the pressure on Tammy Abraham was top of his hit list with Dembele as well as Dries Mertens and Edinson Cavani touted as possible ins.

The French striker remains top of Lampard's shopping list having proved himself with Lyon in Ligue 1 following spells with Celtic and Fulham.

The German admitted he was " open for everything" when asked about a potential move to the Premier League.

Another of the Bundesliga's leading lights, Jadon Sancho, is also on Lampard's wishlist given the possible departures of Pedro and Willian in the summer.

Chelsea are somewhat late to the party when it comes to their interest in the Borussia Dortmund star.

Manchester United and Liverpool have both been linked for some time, but the young English winger grew up as a Blues fan in the capital and would by no means be out of Chelsea's grasp financially.

Sancho is expected to leave Dortmund having thrust himself into the global spotlight following three hugely successful years.
