Chelsea to complete shock raid on Liverpool as wonderkid drops huge transfer hint

Liverpool youngster Ethan Ennis has hinted that he is on the verge of leaving the club and completing a transfer to Chelsea this summer.

Jurgen Klopp has overseen a raft of young talent into the first team at Anfield in recent years, with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones and Neco Williams among those to have earned a path into the squad in recent seasons.

However, 16-year-old Ennis looks set to turn down a deal with Liverpool and complete a move away from the North West after posting a picture on his Instagram story at Chelsea's Cobham training ground.

Ennis showed what he can do on the pitch back in March, coming on as a substitute for Liverpool Under-18s and scoring a hat-trick against Sutton United.

The 16-year-old has previously been linked with a move to Liverpool's rivals Manchester United, and though it is uncertain whether any agreement has been reached between Ennis and Chelsea over a move.

The Blues have a current contingent of first-team players that shows their commitment to advancing talent from the academy.

The likes of Mason Mount and Reece James have stepped up to become valuable members of the squad in recent years, with the club marking a notable change from the earlier days of Roman Abramovich's reign as chairman.

The Blues are expected to be active in the transfer market this summer, players such as Achraf Hakimi and Erling Haaland seriously linked with the first team.
