Reece James and Andreas Christensen have both been given starting roles in Chelsea's back four away to Valencia after Frank Lampard shuffled his defensive pack for the vital Champions League Group H game.
Cesar Azpilicueta has also been shifted over to left back with Emerson Palmieri and Fikayo Tomori dropping out of the team that started Saturday's defeat away to Manchester City. It means that only one who retains the same role at the back is Kurt Zouma.
Mason Mount also remains on the bench as the midfield and attack remain unchanged from the 2-1 loss to Pep Guardiola's side.
Victory against Albert Celades's team would all but guarantee Chelsea's progress to the round of 16, however a defeat would leave them reliant upon other results to avoid going into the Europa League knockout stages.
Valencia, who won the group opener at Stamford Bridge 1-0 in September, are in a similar position, while Lille host Ajax in the other group game.
"I think it’s a must not lose game because of the position we’re in," Lampard said at last night's pre-match press conference. "We lost ground in the first game against Valencia. We have made up a lot of that ground but I always felt it would be a tight group and the reality of it is we are in this situation.
"We don’t want to lose the game. It does not mean we’re out if we lose but it puts us in a very difficult position."
