Chelsea team news vs Manchester United confirmed as Callum Hudson-Odoi, Christian Pulisic start

Following his hat-trick away to Burnley on Saturday Christian Pulisic will start out wide for Chelsea in Wednesday night's Carabao Cup last 16 game at home to Manchester United.

The American retains his place in a team also featuring Callum Hudson-Odoi, who came off the bench in that comfortable win at Turf Moor.

Among the other changes to the starting XI, the exciting Scotland Under-21 midfielder Billy Gilmour and England Under-21 centre back Marc Guehi are both in from the start having impressed in the previous round against Grimsby Town.

There is also plenty of experience in the team selected by Frank Lampard with Willy Caballero coming in between the posts and Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic continuing in the middle.

Reece James also comes in for Cesar Azpilicueta at right back, while Kurt Zouma and Marcos Alonso remain in the back four with Emerson Palmieri ruled out because of an injury.

Pedro, who has barely featured in recent weeks and was captain in the previous round, is only on the substitutes' bench.

United have named a much-changed side, too, with wing back Brandon Williams in from the start as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team look likely to begin with three centre halves - Victor Lindelof, Marcos Rojo and Harry Maguire.

Marcus Rashford will lead the line, assisted by Dan James and Jesse Lingard behind him.

The Brazil international Fred will start in a holding midfield role and former Blue Juan Mata is on the bench.
