Chelsea team confirmed vs Spurs: Kai Havertz on bench with Hakim Ziyech starting

Chelsea have the chance to go top of the Premier League this afternoon if they get three points against Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs have, themselves, had a good start to the campaign as well, and it will be a tough contest at Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard managed to get two wins in the league last season over Jose Mourinho’s side, playing with a 3-4-3 formation.

However, today the Blues boss has stuck with his preferred four in defence, with Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma being the centre-back pairing.

Chelsea v Tottenham: Premier League match preview

In the middle of the park, Kai Havertz has only made the bench, with Mateo Kovacic keeping his place in the side, with Mason Mount and N’Golo Kante.

Hakim Ziyech comes back into the team after being rested against Rennes, meaning Callum Hudson-Odoi misses out.

Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner are the other forwards, with Christian Pulisic returning but being named on the bench.

Chelsea team to face Spurs: Mendy; James, Thiago Silva, Zouma, Chilwell; Kovacic, Kante, Mount; Ziyech, Abraham, Werner.

Subs: Kepa, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Havertz, Pulisic, Giroud.
