Chelsea target two more transfers after completing Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr deals

Chelsea are hoping to land two more signings this summer as their £200million splurge continues following the captures of Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell and Malang Sarr this week.

The Blues are close to finally agreeing a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz, which could see them pay an initial £70m plus potentially more than £15m in add-ons.

He is expected through the door after Chelsea on Friday confirmed the signing of Brazilian defender Thiago Silva on a free following his exit from Paris Saint-Germain.

On top of Havertz, Frank Lampard is keen to bring in a top-level goalkeeper to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga as part of a recruitment drive he hopes will help re-establish Chelsea as a title force after two windows without signings.

The Blues head coach is a fan of Andre Onana at Ajax, while his hopes of landing Manchester United’s Dean Henderson were served a blow when the goalkeeper signed a new deal at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Silva, Chilwell and Sarr follow Timo Wener and Hakim Ziyech through the door at Stamford Bridge in what has been a record recruitment drive for the club.
