Antoine Griezmann has insisted he is happy to stay at Atlético Madrid despite reports José Mourinho has made the France forward his main transfer target for January.
Griezmann, who signed a new contract in the summer with a £43m buyout clause, is enjoying another good season having scored seven goals.
Chelsea made inquiries over his availability in the summer, with reports this week that Mourinho may attempt to sign the 24-year-old in the January transfer window. Griezmann, who has played his entire career in Spain having joined Real Sociedad at the age of 14, appeared to pour cold water on those plans this week.
“I do not feel the need to play in Ligue 1, nor in the Premier League or in Serie A,” he said on the Canal Football Club. “I am in Spain – I’m happy. Life here, football, I like it all.”
Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Griezmann, who scored 22 goals last season.
