Chelsea Supporters' Trust survey highlights major concerns over Premier League return

A survey by the Chelsea Supporters' Trust has suggested that Blues fans would rather the 2019/20 campaign is cancelled than restart this month.

The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust had a reply of 1,114 people to their survey, with 72% coming from their members and the rest from social media.

The Trust asked a variety of questions, including if those answering were season ticket holders, members or lived in the UK or abroad.

They also asked how many games at Stamford Bridge the respondents would attend on average during a season, with 10-19 being the highest with 29%, with it being 66% from those who live inside the UK.

The revealing survey suggests that they would want to see the season either stopped now or null and void, with it being 70% of their first choice.

Completing the season behind closed doors was just over 20% of peoples’ first choices, while finishing the campaign at neutral venues was less than ten.

The fifth question on the survey asked supporters how many games they would watch if the games were played behind closed doors and were shown on television.

The results suggested 66% would watch every game, but 10% of season ticket holders stated that they would not watch the televised matches.

If the season was to be cancelled, then Chelsea would keep their top four spot and be in the Champions League next season.

However, the Blues supporters have stated in the survey that their issue with Project Restart is that money being prioritised over safety, and that football is nothing without fans in the stadium.
