Chelsea Supporters' Trust call on Blues to help fans after Thomas Cook collapse

Chelsea Supporters' Trust have called on the Blues to secure travel arrangements for matches and have a contingency plan after Thomas Cook's demise.

The travel company has ceased operations after talks to bail out the company failed this weekend, a devastating effect which will put more than 20,000 jobs at risk.

Thomas Cook Sport offer packages for Chelsea matches both at home, away and abroad, providing travel and tickets for games.

With the Blues back in the Champions League, the company were running trips to take supporters to Lille, Ajax and Valencia for the matches, which could be booked through Chelsea's website.

They were also the travel company looking after some of Chelsea's travel for fans to get to Premier League away games.

And the Supporters' Trust want the club to make sure that fans are looked after.

On the Chelsea Supporters' Trust website , their statement from Monday afternoon read: "The CST has approached the club with regard to the potential impact on supporters who have booked travel arrangements with Thomas Cook Sport, should they be unable to meet their obligations.

"The club have confirmed that they have not spoken with Thomas Cook Sport about the Thomas Cook situation.

"As far as they know it is business as usual, although clearly a difficult situation for their staff.

"However they are monitoring the situation closely and the club and Thomas Cook Sport are making arrangements as normal.

"Ideally the CST would like the club to contact those who have booked with Thomas Cook Sport for trips to Lille and Southampton and reassure that there is a contingency plan should the company be unable to fulfil its obligations."
