Chelsea suffer huge injury blow as N'Golo Kante leaves pre-Europa League final training early

N'Golo Kante lasted just 25 minutes before leaving Chelsea's open training session ahead of the Europa League final with Arsenal.

In a press conference just moments before the training session, Maurizio Sarri suggested that his star midfielder would be '50/50' to make the match in Baku tomorrow night.

"Kante had a little problem on Saturday. A very little problem within his knee," Sarri said. "The problem is the timing because we had only four days. We are trying.

"We are trying. It's not really a very serious injury. We have the problem of the three or four days to try and recover him. At the moment we don't know. We will try. We will try to the last moment, so we will try tomorrow. But we don't know at the moment."

"I think it's 50-50 at the moment. 50-50. Yesterday, 60-40 for 'no'. Today 50-50. He was a little bit better this morning. But 50-50."

However, it seems that the knee injury he suffered in training on Saturday is potentially worse than expected and after just a warm up he headed back down the tunnel with medical director Paco Biosca.

The France World Cup winner warmed up on his own at the beginning of the session, before taking part in some of the session with the rest of the team.

However, when the players started to use the footballs, Kante made his way down the tunnel and did not emerge for the rest of the evening.

It is likely that he will at least not start tomorrow, with Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Ross Barkley set to be in the middle of the park.
