Chelsea striker tipped for Man City transfer as alternative to Harry Kane

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has struggled for game time this season and may well be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer - but that hasn't stopped one shock transfer suggestion.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a successful 2019/20 campaign, starting 29 league games and netting 15 goals as the Blues secured a fourth-place finish in Frank Lampard's first season.

However, since Thomas Tuchel replaced Lampard at the start of this year, Abraham has been regularly left out of the matchday squad.

The England international has started just two league games under Tuchel and was then left out of the squad for last week's FA Cup final defeat to Leicester.

Former Manchester City striker Trevor Sinclair has advised his old club to target a shock move for Abraham, with City star Sergio Aguero set to leave the Etihad this summer, and Tottenham striker Harry Kane likely to set them back more than £150million.

“I tell you who could be interested in him is Manchester City. I think he’s an elite forward,” Sinclair told talkSPORT about Abraham.

“I think he’d suit Pep’s way. He’s clinical and he’s shown that this season as he’s right up there with the top goal-scorers and he’s hardly played."

talkSPORT’s transfer specialist Alex Crook has instead tipped Abraham to join Graham Potter's Brighton and help fire the Seagulls to a European spot.

He said: “I don’t think it’s too fanciful that if Brighton did break the bank and did get a proper no.9, a goal-scoring forward, a Tammy Abraham, for example, that it would shatter their transfer record.

“It’s possibly unlikely but If you put Abraham in this team they could challenge for Europe themselves.”
