Tammy Abraham says he is unsurprised that he will face increased competition for a starting spot at Chelsea next season.
With Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech having already moved to Stamford Bridge and Kai Havertz also strongly linked to the Blues, Frank Lampard has clearly been keen to bolster his attack for next season.
Whilst that creates increased competition for Abraham, that is not something he is concerned about.
In comments reported by the Express, Abraham said he is already used to having to fight for a starting space.
"This is Chelsea Football Club, there's always going to be high standards and high competition and this is something I've been dreaming of since I was a kid," he said
"I've always been fighting for it, it's never come easy, it wasn't easy at the start of the season but I worked my way into the team and that's what I've got to keep doing."
The Blues were knocked out of the Champions League on Saturday with a heavy defeat to Bayern Munich.
Having already qualified for next season's Champions League, Abraham feels the Blues need to take inspiration from how Bayern Munich played, particularly striker Robert Lewandowski.
"We're a new young side, with a new manager and so we have to be pleased with ourselves," he said.
"But this is the level, it's where we have to get to and better.
"For me, Robert Lewandowski is the best striker and that's the level I've got to get to and better and that's what I am inspired to be.
"It's been a great learning curve, great experience for me and upwards going into next season. I've got to build myself up to those high levels."
Abraham netted 19 goals this season in what has been a breakthrough year for the striker at Stamford Bridge.
Whilst the 22-year-old is delighted with how things have gone, he admits he needs to get better next season.
"It's been a phenomenal season for myself and for the lads," he said. "I couldn't ask for a better season.
"I've had a few niggles here and there but I've come off stronger and build myself for next season. Start well and end well.
"That's my aim and as I said, that's the level I want to get to so I have to raise my bar and go again."
