Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has given an update on the injury he suffered in the 2-2 draw against Valencia at the Mestalla.
The striker left the field on a stretcher at half-time after landing awkwardly on his hip during the first half.
The 22-year-old appeared to be in plenty of pain following the incident, but has revealed that he is now not feeling so bad and hoping for good news from a scan and X-ray on Thursday.
"It's much better, much better than when it happened," he told Chelsea TV.
"At the time I was fearful of the worst, obviously, but when I got in [to the changing room] I was able to walk again, move about. So [I'm] thankful. Hopefully it's not too long [out injured].
"Yeah, I hope [it's just bruising]. I'll have a scan tomorrow - or an X-ray, to see what the news is but hopefully it's just bruising because at the end of the day I think it was a knee to my hip area, so hopefully it's nothing too serious."
Frank Lampard will be hoping to have the striker back as soon as possible with a game against rivals West Ham at the weekend, as the build up to the festive fixture period begins in earnest.
