Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku posts update after positive Covid test

Romelu Lukaku has posted an encouraging update following confirmation that the Belgian striker had tested positive for Covid-19.

The £98m striker had only recently made his return to the side after a lengthy absence with an ankle injury but missed Thursday's draw with Everton after testing positive.

Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi are also isolating after positive tests as Covid cases continue to wreak havoc amongst the Premier League and beyond.

Taking to Instagram, Lukaku provided an update as to his progress with the virus.

“A few days ago I tested positive for COVID,” he wrote.

“I am feeling good now and I am [in] isolation for the next few days.

“I’ve seen the messages thank you for that.

“Stay safe people.”

As it stands, Chelsea’s meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Sunday is due to go ahead and is one of only five games expected to do so.
