Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud 'agrees terms' on Inter move to reunite with Antonio Conte

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud looks set to be leaving the club in the January transfer window.

Giroud has fallen behind both Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, and the 33-year-old is said to be searching for more first-team football in the build up to Euro 2020.

France head coach Didier Deschamps has admitted that the striker needs to be playing more to earn a place in his squad for the summer's European Championships.

Asked if Giroud should leave Chelsea, Deschamps added: "I think yes. He knows very well he cannot be content with so little time. That is not even speaking about France, that is just on him.

Frank Lampard on Olivier Giroud's future

"It is up to him to see which destination he prefers or chooses."

Since then, Inter are said to have agreed terms with Giroud ahead of a potential move.

The Guardian state that the Serie A side are "working hard" on bringing the striker to San Siro, with Antonio Conte "desperate" to add attacking options.

Alexis Sanchez, currently on loan from Manchester United, is out with a long-term injury, and Conte is said to have made Giroud his No.1 target in January.

Sky Italia have stated that the striker has agreed terms on a two-and-a-half-year deal in Milan, and now all that remains is for the two clubs to agree terms on a deal.

Chelsea are said to want €8million-€10million (£6.8million-£8.5million), while Inter are said to be offering €5m (£4.25m).
