Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi responds to transfer speculation with crude gesture

Michy Batshuayi has stunned his followers with his response to speculation over a move away from Chelsea .

Batshuayi, 25 was expected to leave Chelsea this summer following a loan spell at Crystal Palace last season.

He has only featured once this season after coming off the bench against Sheffield United on Sunday.

And reports on deadline day in Europe suggested Batshuayi's international teammate Vincent Kompany was considering a swoop to take him to Anderlecht.

The interest was reported by France Football but the Belgian international issued an astonishing response on social media.

Batshuayi posted an image holding up his middle finger with the words 'LOL' covering the gesture.

In the image, the striker is seen wearing the shirt of Anderlecht's rivals Standard Liege, having started his senior career with the Belgian side.

Batshuayi made his debut at the age of 17 and spent three years with the club before joining Marseille in 2014.

The striker had hoped for a fresh start at Stamford Bridge this summer following the arrival of Frank Lampard.

But Batshuayi has been overshadowed by fellow returning loanee Tammy Abraham, who has scored four times in his last two matches.

And with Olivier Giroud as back-up, it appears Batshuayi is at best third-choice for the Blues boss.

Chelsea reportedly offered the striker to Napoli last week in a bid to get him off their books, but the Serie A side pursued a move for Fernando Llorente instead.
