Chelsea's first team have taken a knee in support of George Floyd as "Blackout Tuesday" trends on social media.
Protests have been rife in the United States following Floyd's death and some of football's leading lights have used their platform to support the cause.
Jadon Sancho, who himself is a Chelsea fan, revealed a shirt with the words "Justice for George Floyd" after he scored a hat-trick for Borussia Dortmund at the weekend.
And now the Blues have showed solidarity with defender Cesar Azpilicueta posting a picture on social media of the squad kneeling with the caption "Enough is enough. We are all HUMANS. Together we are stronger. #BlackLivesMatter "
It comes after the Liverpool squad posted a picture of themselves taking a knee on the Anfield turf.
Several Premier League stars have also posted on Instagram with the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag.
Kevin De Bruyne, Tammy Abraham and Marcus Rashford have all got involved thus far.
Sancho, who could be a Premier League player next season, called for change when he posted at the weekend following his treble.
He said: “Delighted to get my first career hat trick, a bittersweet moment personally as there are more important things going on in the world today that we must address and help make a change.
“We shouldn’t fear speaking out for what’s right, we have to come together as one & fight for justice. We are stronger together! #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd”
And Kick It Out chairman Sanjay Bhandari wants to see every Premier League star take a knee regardless of colour following the actions of several Bundesliga players.
“I hope there will be a degree of leniency shown by the German authorities,” he said.
“I’m not sure how you can sanction Marcus Thuram. I don’t think he’s done anything wrong. He’s just taken a knee.
“I wonder if that’s the thing I would encourage if players want to protest. If you score a goal and take a knee could everyone do that? Not just the black players. The white players too – everyone.
“Every player should do it. It should be teams doing it. You saw the Erling Haaland celebration after the first game back where all the Borussia Dortmund players did the social-distancing celebration. They could all take a knee.
“Racism’s not about black players or brown fans. It’s about all of us. Racism corrodes society and we’re all hurt by it. Everyone should want to demonstrate their solidarity and disgust.”
