Hakim Ziyech is back in training and could soon make his Chelsea debut.
The Morocco international - one of seven major first-team signings made by the Blues this summer - is yet to feature for the Blues so far this season after sustaining a knee injury in the pre-season draw with Brighton and Hove Albion last month.
As a result, he missed the Premier League opener against the same opposition as well as the Liverpool loss, the 3-3 draw at West Brom, and Carabao Cup ties against Barnsley and Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite being back in full training, Tuesday's clash against Spurs came too soon for Ziyech and fellow forward Christian Pulisic.
"Ziyech and Pulisic are not far away but they are still in a recovery phase," Lampard said in his pre-match press conference.
"Too early for them both."
Next up for the Blues is a home game against London rivals Crystal Palace in the early kick-off on Saturday and it remains to be seen if Ziyech is included in the matchday squad.
It's likely that Lampard will issue an update on the playmaker and his chances of making his debut at Friday's pre-match press conference.
And as Ziyech prepares to make his bow, he's been active on social media with some injury updates for Chelsea fans.
His most recent post on Instagram is a picture gallery of him stepping up his recovery with a three-word message that reads: "Step by step," accompanied with an hourglass emoji.
The aforementioned post prompted a reaction from two of Ziyech's Chelsea teammates.
Tammy Abraham 'liked' the image and responded by saying "My boy," with a fire emoji.
Meanwhile, fellow new signing Ben Chilwell delivered his verdict with a muscle emoji.
