Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi signs new five-year contract worth £100,000-a-week

Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi has committed his future to the club by signing a new five-year contract.

The deal, worth a reported £100,000-a-week, will keep the England international at Stamford Bridge until 2024.

The 18-year-old is currently recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon injury sustained against Burnley back in April but the club were keen to tie him down, with just a year left on his previous deal.

It represents a remarkable U-turn from the youngster, who reportedly handed in a transfer request in January to force through a move to Bayern Munich.

The German outfit had two bids rejected, believed to be £22 million and £25 million, with the club determined to hang onto one of the most talented players to come through the academy.

However, Hudson-Odoi has reportedly been convinced he has a key role to play under new boss Frank Lampard after Eden Hazard joined Real Madrid this summer.

Hudson-Odoi made 10 Premier League appearances as a substitute but featured more frequently in the Europa League, scoring four goals in nine games.

His dazzling displays for the Blues earned him a call-up to the England senior squad and he made his debut against Czech Republic back in March, becoming the youngest player to represent England in a competitive match.
