Mason Mount is reportedly set to be rewarded for his fine Chelsea form with an improved contract at the club.
According to Goal, the English midfielder is set to be offered fresh terms at Stamford Bridge, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2024.
As per the reports, Mount is set to double his wages in west London from the £75,000-per-week deal that he is currently earning with Chelsea.
It has been suggested that he is yet to be offered a formal contract offer, with the likes of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Trevoh Chalobah all being prioritised first, but there is not expected to be a problem in negotiations as Mount is reported to be ‘delighted’ to renew.
The decision to extend Mount’s stay at Stamford Bridge follow a meteoric rise into the Chelsea first team over the past couple of seasons since being handed an opportunity by Frank Lampard.
The 22-year-old is now one of the most important names on the teamsheet having made 116 appearances for the club since his debut, scoring 17 goals.
That has seen Mount also earn international recognition, with the midfielder now having 26 England caps to his name since his debut in 2019.

Intriguingly, the midfielder was left on the bench for Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Brentford at the weekend but Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that he was only left out due to his excursions over the latest international break.
The German said: "Mason [Mount] deserves always usually to start but he played for the national team so we keep him back, and it is the same with Jorginho and all the others."
So far this season, Mount has made nine appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, providing a solitary assist in the Blues’ 2-0 victory against Arsenal back in August.
