Chelsea star sends Leandro Trossard three-word message after completing Arsenal transfer

Marc Cucurella has congratulated his former teammate Leandro Trossard after the Belgian forward completed a move to top of the table Arsenal. Trossard, who was a target for Chelsea over the summer and briefly this window, was signed by the Gunners for an initial £21m fee.

The 28-year-old was one of Graham Potter's best performing players during his time at Brighton and developed alongside his former side in making a name for himself in the Premier League. He only spent one season alongside Cucurella at the Amex Stadium but the pair were two of the key players for Potter.

They played 31 times together during the campaign and have now moved on for a combined £80million which could yet rise, having been signed for less than £30million.

Whilst Trossard's form this season has continued, scoring seven and assisting three - he got eight goals and three assists in all of last term - Cucurella has dropped off and struggled to settle at Stamford Bridge so far. The Spaniard has recently been replaced in the side by 18-year-old Lewis Hall.

Trossard took no time getting accustomed to new manager Roberto De Zerbi after he replaced Potter in September but fell out with the manager after returning from the World Cup. With pressure coming from his contract expiry, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal were all keen on securing his signature but Mikel Arteta's men quickly moved to the front of the queue, securing a deal.

Upon his announcement as a new Arsenal player, Trossard wrote on Instagram: "London calling! Excited to join Arsenal, here we go!"

In reply to his good friend's message, Cucurella sent his good wishes and shared excitement, commenting: "Let’s goo amigo" with three fire emojis and a clapping hand emoji.

Arsenal are now waiting to find out if Trossard can play against Manchester United whilst Cucurella faces a battle to win back his spot from Hall at SW6 ahead of their trip to Anfield on Saturday.
