Chelsea star Mason Mount fires Liverpool warning ahead of Champions League clash with Real Madrid

Mason Mount declared that Chelsea are ready to take on any side in the Champions League semi-finals.

Liverpool face Real Madrid on Wednesday, looking to overturn a 3-1 deficit from the first leg in order to set up a meeting with Thomas Tuchel's men in the European Cup.

Chelsea progressed after a 2-1 aggregate victory over Porto, losing their second leg 1-0 after an incredible overhead kick from Mehdi Taremi.

“We'll take anyone - we're ready for the fight,” Mount said after his side reached the last four for the first time in seven years. “We're buzzing. We're in a good position, we know we're playing well. The focus in every game is 100 per cent.

“We're going into each game with confidence that we're going to win. We've got a big end to the season.”

After holding onto their slender lead, Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta believes the fight his teammates showed can give them the edge to go on and win the competition.

“When you are into the best four teams in Europe everything’s going to be difficult and they are obviously two games where we are going to give everything because we know we have a chance,” he said.

“The team showed that spirit and when you want to get through it doesn’t matter how.

"Of course, we are very honest and we know that we can play better, but sometimes it’s the game to dig in, to fight together, and the team showed that spirit in the two games.”
