Marc Guehi is set to rejoin Swansea City for the duration of the 2020/21 campaign.
The versatile defender signed on an initial six-month loan deal from Chelsea in January and excelled - particularly after lockdown - during his time at the Liberty Stadium.
He returned to the Blues following the conclusion of the 2019/20 season.
But WalesOnline understands the defender will return to South Wales for the entirety of the upcoming campaign as previously expected.
Chelsea are thought to be hugely impressed with the Englishman's efforts during his time working under Steve Cooper at Swansea.
They expect him to continue to develop under the Swansea head coach's guidance, with the Swans once again aiming to secure promotion into the Premier League.
Guehi made 14 appearances for the Swans in his debut campaign at the club.
The news comes as a major boost to the Jack Army who have already seen defenders Mike van der Hoorn and Ben Wilmot leave the club this summer.
