Chelsea star Kai Havertz ‘focused on recovery’ after positive coronavirus test

Chelsea summer signing Kai Havertz is "focused on recovery" after testing positive for coronavirus.

The club confirmed ahead of kick-off against Rennes on Wednesday that the German was self-isolating following a positive diagnosis.

Havertz sat out the 3-0 win and will again watch from home as Chelsea host struggling Sheffield United on Saturday evening.

He tweeted on Saturday morning: "Thank you for all the messages. Time to focus on recovery and getting back on the pitch soon."

Christian Pulisic is also absent for the visit of the Blades having failed to overcome hamstring issues. Kepa Arrizabalaga is fit after shoulder trouble.
