Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech produces fine assist as he makes injury return in Morocco friendly

Hakim Ziyech grabbed an assist as Morocco beat Senegal 3-1 in a friendly on Friday evening.

Ziyech, who is yet to feature for Chelsea after sustaining an injury in their pre-season friendly at Brighton, took a significant step in his recovery as he came on for the final 30 minutes of Morocco's win in Rabat.

The 27-year-old is yet to feature for Frank Lampard's side competitively. The Chelsea boss confirmed he was "not quite fit enough to be on the bench" for the 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace before the international break.

However, Ziyech was named among the Morocco substitutes on Friday and made a swift impact following his second-half introduction.

The former Ajax man was involved in the build-up to Morocco's second goal before swinging over a smart set piece for Youssef El Arabi to head home late on.

Watford's Ismaila Sarr added a late consolation goal from the spot for Senegal, but Ziyech had already helped put the game beyond the visitors.
