Chelsea star Christian Pulisic sends message to teammates amid coronavirus outbreak in America

Chelsea ace Christian Pulisic is urging his teammates and members of the public to support American citizens by offering to donate food to them during the coronavirus pandemic.

The COVID-19 outbreak is currently causing mass panic and chaos across the globe, as the number of cases and confirmed deaths continue to rise on a daily basis.

All professional football has been suspended in the UK until April 30 at the very earliest with the number of cases of coronavirus rising, as they are in Pulisic's homeland, the United States of America.

Now, the Chelsea winger is urging members of the public and his teammates at international level to help out and donate what they can to help out in America.

The most expensive Premier League transfers ever

On his personal Instagram page, Pulisic said: "Hi everyone. I know it is crazy times out there and I hope all you guys are able to stay safe.

"I think it is a really important time that we all need to come together and help those that really are most in need. Before this coronavirus, there were already 37 million Americans with food insecurity and obviously with this virus going around that is just going to grow substantially.

"So, it is a really important time and I would just like to announce that I have donated to Feeding America, who already supported over 60,000 food banks all over the country, and do such an amazing job for so many people.

"I would like to challenge my colleagues, my US men's national teammates, the US women's national team and any of you guys who are able to donate anything. Every penny counts.

"Let's stick together and let's do this."
