Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi sets big new target for 2021 season

Callum Hudson-Odoi has already got a target in mind for when he returns to playing for Chelsea.

The young star has missed a large portion of the current season due to an Achilles injury suffered last term, and a hamstring problem in the early part of this year.

Following that, the winger also became the first Premier League player to contract COVID-19 in March, but has confirmed he is now feeling "perfect" after making a full recovery.

However, the current football season has been suspended for the time being, with Euro 2020 pushed back until the summer of 2021.

And the Chelsea star says his main aim for the next year is to make sure he's a part of the Three Lions squad taking part in next summer's competition.

"For me it is an opportunity to show again and keep pushing myself to the max to hopefully have an opportunity to go to the Euros," he told Chelsea TV.

"The Euros is a massive thing and I have big belief in myself and hopefully I will be able to get into the team.

"I just want to make sure that I keep pushing myself every game and every minute and making sure that I keep trying to score goals and make assists and keep trying to help the team as much as possible to get what we want, which is a trophy at the end of the day."

Hudson-Odoi made his England debut in 2019, and has gone on to make a further two appearances for the full squad as he looks to cement his place in both the Chelsea first XI and the national squad.
