Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi bailed after alleged incident at his home during lockdown

Callum Hudson-Odoi was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning following an alleged incident with a woman at his home.

The 19-year-old Chelsea attacker was taken into custody and a woman, who had paid a visit to his flat earlier on Saturday evening, was taken to hospital by ambulance after feeling unwell.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed that a man was arrested at Hudson-Odoi’s west London apartment after they were called shortly before 4am.

He has since been released on bail to return in mid-June.

“Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 03:53hrs on Sunday 17 May to a report of an unwell woman,” the Met said.

A report in The Sun suggested that the woman is a model who Hudson-Odoi had made contact with online and subsequently invited to his flat.

Neighbours claimed that police had returned to the building later on Sunday afternoon to complete a search.

Hudson-Odoi’s flouting of lockdown rules may also be viewed as undermining the club’s proactive community work during the coronavirus pandemic, having led the way in efforts to assist frontline workers and local charities.

Hudson-Odoi was one of the first Premier League footballers to test positive with coronavirus in March, the week before all games were suspended.

The teenager, who is one of the club’s highest earners after signing a new long-term contract earlier this season, made a full and quick recovery.

He has been gearing up for a return to full training with clubs hopeful of some group sessions in the next week.

“I had the virus which has cleared now,” he said in early April. “I fully feel good, I feel fit, so I am feeling back to myself so it is all good.”

“I had it [the illness] three weeks ago now I think, on a Monday when I felt a bit hot and I was thinking this is a bit unusual, why do I feel this hot. The next day I was feeling back to normal.”

Chelsea have not commented on the matter.
