Chelsea star aims dig at David Luiz after completing Arsenal transfer on Deadline Day

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has appeared to aim a subtle swipe at former team mate David Luiz on social media.

In a surprise turn of events, Luiz was reportedly told to train away from Chelsea 's first team after a disagreement with Frank Lampard .

Appearing surplus to requirements, the clubs agreed an £8million fee which sees Luiz re-united with Unai Emery after the pair worked together at Paris Saint-Germain .

Luiz did not feature in Chelsea's final pre-season fixture against Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend, which reportedly left the player concerned about his playing time during the forthcoming season.

It is believed that the central defender was becoming a disruptive influence which forced Lampard to stamp his authority on the matter, according to the Metro.

Chelsea's central defensive options include Kurt Zouma , Andreas Christensen and Fikayo Tomori while Antonio Rudiger is working his way back to full fitness.

Christensen, who will be hoping for greater opportunities under Lampard, has taken to Facebook and made his feelings about Luiz's departure clear.

The Danish international posted a picture of himself and his ex-team mate above the caption, 'No player is bigger than the club.'

The Blues are serving a transfer ban but were permitted to secure the permanent transfer of midfielder Mateo Kovacic , who spent last season on loan from Real Madrid .

Meanwhile, Arsenal have enjoyed a productive window and bolstered their back line further with the capture of Celtic full back Kieran Tierney just before the window slammed shut.

After Laurent Koscielny 's departure for Bordeaux, Emery was pleased the club were able to land an experienced figure such as Luiz to replace him.

He said: "David has huge experience and I look forward to working with him again. He is a well known player and adds to our defensive strength."
