Defender returns as experienced player left out - Chelsea squad revealed for Slavia Prague clash

Chelsea return to Europa League action this evening with a quarter-final clash against Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic.

The Blues are the current favourites to lift the trophy in Baku next month and progressed to the final eight after beating Dynamo Kiev 8-0 on aggregate in the previous round.

It's certainly a kind draw for Maurizio Sarri's team given the likes of Napoli, Arsenal and Valencia are still left in the competition, although it is worth remembering that their opponents did knock out Sevilla in the Round of 16.

Chelsea are in good form at present and they will be confident of setting up a semi-final clash against Eintracht Frankfurt or Benfica in the coming weeks.

Well, Sarri has selected a very strong squad for the game in the Czech capital, with the likes of Ethan Ampadu, Gary Cahill and Danny Drinwater the only notable absentees, while Marcos Alonso returns after missing out against West Ham earlier in the week.

However, the Italian is expected to shuffle his pack as the team played on Monday against the Hammers and they face a tricky trip to Anfield on Sunday to take on Liverpool.
