Chelsea have been slammed for their defending against Manchester City on Sunday.
Frank Lampard's men lost 3-1 at home to a Man City side struggling with coronavirus issues, conceding all three goals in the first-half to continue their poor form.
Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne were in the goals for City - with Callum Hudson-Odoi scoring a consolation - and De Bruyne stole the show with an excellent overall performance.
But Chelsea could have helped themselves by simply trying to tackle the Belgian, according to Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane.
“What Chelsea didn’t do, forget about marking him, try tackling him," said the former Manchester United midfielder after the game.
"Nobody from Chelsea tackled today, nobody got close to anybody.
"When you give players like that - with the vision he has - you give him time and space, you pay a heavy price and that’s what Chelsea did today.”
Chelsea were particularly criticised for their defending of the first goal when Gundogan cleverly turned away from Thiago Silva on the edge of the box before finding the bottom corner.
Keane added: "It’s okay when you drop in and it’s team shape, that’s all well and good, but when it’s on the edge of the box, that’s when you have to come alive and be aggressive. If he’s gonna have a shot, he’s gotta work for it.
"He’s just gone on the half-turn, swivelled on the edge of the box and it’s 1-0 down.”
And Keane's fellow pundit Graeme Souness weighed in with a similar view, pointing to Hakim Ziyech's role in the goal.
“Just watch Ziyech, he takes the free-kick, he wanders in and watch him. Big players don’t act like that," he said. "Sprint back as fast as you possibly can, you don’t stand and watch the game like this.
"I’m not saying he’s going to race back and be the difference, but he might race back. De Bruyne follows up on this, he still thinks something can happen and he gets it.
"I’m sure when Frank (Lampard) sees that, he’ll point out to Ziyech that you cannot do that in our football.”
