Micah Richards believes Erling Haaland would be the 'icing on the cake' for Chelsea this summer.
The Blues have been in brilliant form since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, now 15 unbeaten across all competitions after beating Sheffield United to reach the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday afternoon.
That result followed a Champions League Round of 16 win over Atletico Madrid during the week and Tuchel's men seem to be winning over all their critics from earlier in the campaign when they were easy fodder amid a difficult run of form under Frank Lampard.
Former Manchester City defender turned pundit Richards is one of the many left impressed by Chelsea's recent performances.
And after the win over Sheffield United, he discussed how the addition of Borussia Dortmund superstar Haaland this summer would top off what is already a brilliant squad.
“I think they’ve got absolutely everything. They’ve sorted out defensive problems, the only thing to add that little bit of icing on the cake would be a striker," he told the BBC.
"They’ve got Werner in there, Havertz in there, it seems like they haven’t cracked that offensive aspect yet. If you put Haaland in this team, they’ll be scary next season.”
Haaland was said to be at the top of Chelsea's transfer shortlist ahead of this summer, and he may still be, but it's said the Norwegian may not want to move to Stamford Bridge.
Recent reports suggested Haaland only wants to join an 'absolutely top club' and that Chelsea do not fit into that category, though his options may be somewhat limited.
That's because he is likely to cost more than £100million this summer with his £68million release clause not coming into play until the summer of 2022.
That leaves only a select few clubs who could afford Haaland, and Chelsea may be one of those clubs.
