Chelsea second half player ratings: Gilmour superb but Bakayoko fades as Blues squander victory

Jamie Cumming

Not tested with a shot on his goal, and only once really had to come out and punch the ball away during the half. The one shot on goal was fired home. 5

Davide Zappacosta

Some really nice runs from the Italian, but without much of an end product. Looked pretty comfortable defensively as well, but not tested too much. 6

Kurt Zouma

Nice to see him back and with the captain's armband. Was up against a 15-year-old for much of the half, and he obviously dealt with that well. The overlap killed the Frenchman and the finish was too easy. 6

Trevoh Chalobah

Comfortable at the back again, having played a full season in central midfield for Ipswich. Looked good on the ball again, but also not really tested. 6

Ian Maatsen

The 17-year-old made his debut and it was an impressive one. Not afraid to make a challenge and lightening quick down the left flank when he got forward as well. However, for the goal the Blues youngster was out of position. 6

Billy Gilmour

A really sharp half from the young Scot, playing in the number 10 role and looking good from the beginning. Some lovely long-range passes and something that would have impressed Lampard. 8

Tiemoue Bakayoko

A couple of powerful runs, but some poor passes once again from him. Going to be an interesting summer with a wealth of talent in midfield. A fierce shot early in the half. Faded a bit. 5

Lucas Piazon

Didn't really add too much on the right flank. One nice pass into Gilmour, but apart from that he offered very little. 4

Lewis Baker

Showed some lovely feet early on in the half, with wonderful long-range passing to get it wide. Looked to dictate play as his sat deeper and it was an encouraging display. 7

Izzy Brown

One dipping shot as he cut in from the left and fired just over. However, didn't really get into the game very much after that and struggled to impress. 5

Ike Ugbo

Really not in the game at all. Beaten to the ball on a few occasions and didn't have a chance to shout about.
