Chelsea's transfer interest in Sergio Aguero revealed as Olivier Giroud 'prioritises' move

Here is your Chelsea morning digest for Friday, June 4.

UEFA make decision over Super Cup venue

Chelsea will have another opportunity for silverware in August with the Blues set to face Europa League winners Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup.

There was previously some doubt as to where the game could be played with Istanbul emerging as a contender to host having twice lost the UEFA Champions League final due to COVID-19 restrictions.

However, the game is set to stay in its original location of Belfast and Windsor Park.

It is set to take place on August 11 with an 8pm kick-off.

Aguero’s father makes Chelsea claim

After leaving Manchester City, Argentine striker Sergio Aguero has penned a deal with Spanish giants FC Barcelona.

However, he could well have been represented Chelsea - at least according to the player’s father.

He has suggested that the Blues were interested in swooping for his signature “to the last minute”.

Giroud prioritising AC Milan move

Whilst Thomas Tuchel will be looking to bolster his frontline at Stamford Bridge in the summer, they could also be letting a striker leave in the form of Olivier Giroud.

The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season and is interesting AC Milan.

According to CalcioMercato, Giroud himself has prioritised a move to the San Siro ahead of a switch to New York City or West Ham United - the pair also be credited with interest.
