Chelsea's talks for Marc Cucurella as Benjamin Sesko and Wesley Fofana 'targeted'

Here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours on Tuesday, August 2.

Chelsea in advanced talks to sign Marc Cucurella

football.london understands that Chelsea are in advanced talks with Brighton & Hove Albion over a deal to sign Cucurella after Man City had been the front-runners to sign the Spaniard all summer long. Talks between the Premier League champions and Brighton recently broke down, with the Seagulls looking for £50 million.

The Athletic and Fabrizio Romano have both also reported a move is close.

Cucurella handed in an official transfer request at the Amex Stadium last week, but Brighton did not lower their asking price. Chelsea are now confident they can match that and have made it clear to the Seagulls that they will indeed do so.

Chelsea 'meet' with Benjamin Sesko's agent

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly met with the representative of RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko.

According to Sports Klub (via the Express ), Chelsea owner Todd Boehly held a meeting with the representative of Benjamin Sesko at the weekend.

Man Utd have been heavily linked with the striker, but it's now reported that Boehly had a face-to-face meeting with Elvis Basanovic, Sesko’s agent.

Salzburg are reportedly asking for £50 million.

Wesley Fofana not for sale

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers said: “No, he’s not for sale. When we looked at him he had made 17 league starts. Everyone had a look at him back then but he’s come here, really flourished and developed, not just as a player but as a young man. He really respects the club, I’ve got no doubt that in the future he’ll be on that (highest) stage but he’s very comfortable, he feels good here.

“He has a great relationship with his team-mates which is important and there’s no doubt he will grace that stage. But for now he’s here, he’s developing and like I said he’s not for sale. He’s maybe got an opportunity to get himself in the France squad for the World Cup and for that it’s about playing, so I’m pretty calm on it. I’ve had long chats with him.”

football.london understands Chelsea have made contact over a move for Fofana in the past week, with the Blues looking to add further depth to their centre-back options.
