Chelsea's season opener confirmed but Arsenal and Liverpool trips are rescheduled

Chelsea's first two away games of the 2021/22 Premier League season have been moved after being selected for television coverage, but the season opener against Crystal Palace will not be broadcast live in the UK.

Thomas Tuchel's side begin their top flight campaign with a home clash against the Eagles on August 14, at which they are likely to parade the Champions League trophy won against Man City last month.

Yet neither Sky Sports nor BT Sport have decided to select the game for live coverage meaning the Blues will start their Premier League season with a traditional 3pm Saturday kick-off.

Chelsea's opening away game of the campaign will be shown live, however. Sky Sports will broadcast the fixture which has been moved to Sunday, August 22 and will kick-off at 4.30pm.

The following weekend, the Blues make the long trip to Merseyside to face Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool at Anfield.

It's likely to be a match that gives an early indication of both sides' title credentials and, unsurprisingly, has been picked for television coverage.

The date of the game remains Saturday, August 28 but the kick-off time has been pushed back to 5.30pm. The contest will be shown by Sky Sports.

Chelsea face a difficult start to the Premier League season. After their trips to Arsenal and Liverpool, Tuchel's side return to Stamford Bridge and take on Aston Villa.

Two more tough away games then follow. On Saturday, September 18, the Blues are currently scheduled to face Tottenham Hotspur in north London.

The following weekend, Chelsea are set to welcome Pep Guardiola's Manchester City to Stamford Bridge in what will be a rerun of the Champions League final.

That clash is currently set to be played Saturday, September 25. However, BT Sport and Sky Sports are yet to pick which games they will broadcast live that month so the dates remain subject to change.
